The country’s National Emergency Management Agency—NEMA has raised alarm over pipeline leakage in Ikeja Lagos state.

In a statement earlier today, the NEMA spokesperson Ibrahim Farinloye had concerning the pipeline leakage; 

 

Residents around Computer Village, Underbridge Awolowo Way, Oba Akran axis, Anifowose Street, Medical Road, must not open shops or use open naked fire for safety reasons. 

Distressed alert just received indicates massive leakage of gas pipeline around these areas. Residents are advised to take safety precautions to prevent any form of disaster.

 

According to the NEMA spokesperson reports, the affected areas in Lagos are; Computer Village, Ikeja Underbridge end of Awolowo Way, Oba Akran axis, Anifowose Street, and Medical Road.

Following the report of the Ikeja pipeline leakage and the video clip attached to it, Nigerians expressed displeasure and anxiety towards people standing and lurking around the now unsafe environment.
