PANDEMONIUM IN NIGER STATE AFTER BANDIT ATTACK
Portuguese manager, Jose Mourinho has been sacked from Tottenham Hotspur in the wake of a Super League announcement on April 19 in north London.
Mourinho's contract which was supposed to run until the summer of 2023 was brought to a premature conclusion by Tottenham on Monday morning.
The former Porto, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester United boss was shown the exit door in Tottenham few days before the North London club challenged Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final.
Recall that Mourinho took over the office of Argentine, Mauricio Pochettino back in November 2019 because the latter could not win a trophy during his reign as Tottenham manager.
According to Tottenham, Jose Mourinho alongside his coaching staff Joao Sacramento, Nuno Santos, Carlos Lalin and Giovanni Cerra were all relieved of their duties. The statement reads below:
The club can today announce that Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff Joao Sacramento, Nuno Santos, Carlos Lalin and Giovanni Cerra have been relieved of their duties.
Chairman of Spurs, Daniel Levy said: Jose and his coaching staff have been with us through some of our most challenging times as a club. Jose is a true professional who showed enormous resilience during the pandemic.
On a personal level I have enjoyed working with him and regret that things have not worked out as we both had envisaged. He will always be welcome here and we should like to thank him and his coaching staff for their contribution.
Meanwhile, The North London club have confirmed that Ryan Mason who is a formed midfielder of the club and currently the head of player development, will take first-team training on Monday.
