Leicester City inform forward, Kelechi Iheanacho has been named the Premier League Player of the Month for March.

The 24-year-old now ranks himself as one of the four Nigerians (as at March 2021) to win this individual accolade. He joins the likes of Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, Peter Odemwingie and Odion Ighalo who were former winners of the prestigious monthly prize for EPL player of the month.

Iheanacho scored five EPL goals and a total seven goals in four matches matches across all competitions in the month under review, one of which stands as a contender for the goal of the month award.

His sublime volley against Burnley on March 3 is also in contention for the Premier League Goal of the Month award while four of his goals have been nominated for Leicester City’s Goal of the Month.

Below are Iheanacho's comments after receiving his award:

I am so pleased and honoured to win this award, he told Leicester City website.

I am really enjoying playing at the minute and hopefully I can push on and help the team to finish as high as possible this season.
