PANDEMONIUM IN NIGER STATE AFTER BANDIT ATTACK
Balarbe Maikaba, a Professor and former Head of the Department of Mass Communication, Bayero University, Kano (BUK) is dead. This was revealed in a statement by Dr. Ashir T. Inua of the same Faculty.
According to Dr. Inua, Prof. Balarbe Maikaba died on Sunday, 26 April at about 3 PM in a private clinic in Kano metropolis, after a brief illness.
Concerning his death, Dr Inua said:
Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun. Professor Balarabe Maikaba. We love you and Allah loves you more than we do. We lost you Professor. May Allah forgive your sins and accept you as His obidient servant.

Also, a relative of the late Professor Balarbe Maikaba spoke anonymously that the deceased was diabetic and complained of fever on Saturday. Below are his words:
When he complained of fever, we rushed him to the hospital where he died not long ago. We are already moving to the Abattoir cemetery where he will be buried.
Recall that Aminu Yahaya, a former Commissioner of Education in the State had also died in the early hours of Sunday.
Currently, the number of deaths recorded in the past three days at the Bayero University, Kano is three, including late Professor Balarbe Maikaba.
