Merriam-Webster has added over 500 words to the dictionary in September. This was confirmed by the dictionary's editors who announced that more than 530 words, as well as 4,000 definition, etymology and pronunciation revisions were added to Merriam-Webster's website.

Surprisingly, the new words range from the technical to the informal as coinage, slangs such as "vacay," "sesh," tallboy," among others were added. Also words from pop culture, politics, sports, psychology were included.

In addition to these new words, other words were given expanded definitions, for example, "haircut" now also mean, "reduction in the value of an asset."
