PANDEMONIUM IN NIGER STATE AFTER BANDIT ATTACK
Former vice president of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar made an announcement on March 22nd, that one of his son had tested positive for the contagious coronavirus (COVID-19).
He made this known to the public via his verified Twitter handle. He tweeted:
My son has tested positive to coronavirus. @NCDCGov has been duly informed, and he has been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment and management. I will appreciate it if you have him in your prayers. Stay safe, coronavirus is real.
His son who tested positive for the dreaded virus is said to be Mohammed Atiku.
Meanwhile, Atiku's son, already infected with COVID-19 exchanged pleasantries with the Governor the Bauchi State, Muhammed Bala during their flight from Lagos to Abuja. This had made Muhammed Bala go into isolation following his contact with the the infected former vice president's son.
Bauchi State Governor - Bala Muhammed
Ladan Salihu, an aide to Muhammed Bala and former Director-General of Radio Nigeria tweeted:
Our Governor, Bala Mohammed is in self-isolation following contact with Atiku Abubakar’s son. Yes, we were on the same flight from Lagos to Abuja. They shook hands and exchanged pleasantries. The governor and the rest of us have taken tests. The results will be negative Insha Allah.
Before Governor Bala went into isolation; he, alongside other Governors attended the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting last Thursday which was presided by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.
As it stands now, all the State Governors in Nigeria (including Professor Yemi Osibanjo) are carefully monitoring their current state of health after the NEC meeting.
