Photos from the 9th Biennial Lecture of the Actors Guild of Nigeria

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) under the National Umbrella for the Regulation and Representation of Affairs of Film held her 9th Biennial Lecture and Official Launch Ceremony with the theme - 'The Strategic Role of Nollywood In The Nigeria Economy'.

Some of the major activities conducted during the event include - Patron's Investiture, Inauguration, Veteran's Honours Award and a Lecture.

During the ceremony which was held on the 11th of March at Ladi Kwali Hall, Sheraton Hotels and Towers, Abuja; the movie titled "Operation Last Dance" was also launched. The 'Operation Last Dance' is a movie that promotes the patriotism of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

In the course of the event, President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Chief Rollas Ejieze presented awards to notable and veteran actors who had made their mark in the industry. They include Chief Pete Edochie, Bob Manuel Udokwu, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Segun Arinze and Zack Orji, amongst others.

Also, the New Patron Forum led by the AGN's Board of Trustees Chairman, Prince Ifeanyi Dike, was inaugurated. During this time, Prince Barrister Ned Nwoko was appointed as Chairman of the Forum while Dr. Suleiman Adejo as the Secretary. Other members that were inaugurated include Chief Ayim Pius Ayim, Lt General Buratai, Senator Ishiakwu and other great personalities across various sectors of Interest.

Notable personalities like Sheikh Ibrahim Ahmed Maqri, Lt Gen. T.Y Buratai, Senator Ifeanyi Uba, amongst others also also received awards during the event.

Finally, the National Secretariat was officially unveiled. The secretariat boasts of various impressive structures comprising of a five star hotel, offices, cinema halls, snapping malls, offices and an event center.
